Comitaria is an independent academic publisher, currently in formation. We are building it on a straightforward principle: the editors who run a journal, the reviewers who scrutinise the work, and the authors who produce it should share in what it earns. Our first titles are in preparation.
Our reviewers are experts who take time to thoroughly read and evaluate an article, and submit reports substantial enough to be worth the author's time. Quality peer review is rewarded.
All articles are published open access under a Creative Commons licence, and authors retain copyright.
A defined share of each journal's surplus is returned every year to the people who created it. The terms are written down and the results made available to each contributor.
If you believe the academic publishing model should give more back to its contributors, and you are a seasoned academic, we would like to hear from you. We are forming the editorial boards for our first titles now, across medicine, the sciences, and engineering.
